Certified Scrum Master training
Code Sprinters uses Scrum for its own software development and for three years now has been training and coaching teams in Scrum and agile. We offered the first Certified Scrum Master training in Cracow, Poland in 2007 and have since trained over a hundred Scrum Masters and Scrum Product Owner, who now lead agile teams throughout Poland and Europe.
The next edition of our CSM training will be on 18-19 of March 2010. As usual, we offer very competitive prices and great learning experience - this time in Warsaw.
Details below.
THE TRAINING
Now in its third consecutive year, this training program prepares you for the role of Scrum Master, guardian and facilitator of the Scrum process. The Scrum Master is not a boss or a drill sergeant. He is more like a coach of the Scrum team, helping it to be more productive. He removes all obstacles that prevent the team to achieve top performance. Shields it from interruptions from the rest of the organization. To achieve this, the Scrum Master applies the simple principles of Scrum and facilitates each of the meetings and interactions that Scrum requires.
During the training you will learn:
- why Scrum works the way it does - or why an iterative, incremental approach works so well for software projects,
- what are the key Scrum principles that make it tick,
- how this simple framework can be successfully applied in a wide range of projects,
- how to use Scrum artifacts - Product Backlog, Sprint Backlog, Burndown Chart & other visual aids,
- how to lead the meeting Scrum calls for: Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospectives and Daily Scrum,
- how to plan and estimate work, including long term planning to answer your stakeholders' questions about the project,
- how to lead and coach a self-organizing, adaptive project team,
- how to communicate with your superiors, clients and teammates.
Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to put what you learn into use through practical excercises with other participants. You will build a backlog, prioritize it, estimate it and much more. Plus you will have a chance to talk about your own experiences with the trainer - an experienced Scrum coach - and other participants.
Upon successful completion of your training, you will become a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) and you will be awarded membership in the Scrum Alliance (one-year membership fee is included in the course fee). As of October 1st, 2009 Scrum Alliance introduced a standardized on-line test that every participant has to take prior to certification. For the time being everyone will pass the test and results will be used to calibrate it further. It is expected that later this year this calibration period will end and attaining a passing score will be required to get certified. Read more about changes to the certification program.
Furthermore, CSM training at Code Sprinters gives you 14 PDU units towards your PMI certificate extension. Ask us for details.
Note: the language of the course and materials is English. No translation will be provided. We feel any form of translation would decrease training's value by impeding communication between the trainer and the participants. Therefore decent level of spoken English is required to participate.
